Simlin home was used by the early Mennonite settlers formed out of mud and clay with straw mixed in.

Hamlet of Neuanlage

The settlement of Neuanlage ( Means "New  settlement") was established in 1895. In May of that year, the Mennonites from Europe and Russia via Manitoba migrated to land known as the Hague Osler Reserve, at that time part of the North West Territories. They brought with them their way of life, their churches and schools
